Sunny Autumn Days
Right. So it’s sunny. And crisp. And dry. And all dazzly when you sit on the bus even though you’re wearing your biggest shades of the year (I have super-amazing extra-large silver shades at the moment…they’re about twice the size of my head).
The thing about sunny Autumn days is you can never tell how warm or cold it is. Today I went out in a jumper, skirt, tights, boots, coat and scarf. By the time I got to the bus stop there was an unmistakable sweatyness about me. I was too hot.
So I stripped the coat and scarf off and sat in the hot sunshine on the Ormeau road, feeling very seasonal.
That was until a student girl went past me, wearing just a t-shirt, a short skirt and a pair of pumps. She looked considerably more in the season than me.
But shortly after that, an older woman went past. She was wearing about three jumpers, a shawl, a scarf, a hat and was carrying an umbrella. Not taking any risks, I thought.
Then there’s the men. All the frigging same as usual. Shirt/t-shirt and jeans. The studenty or arty ones wearing scarves and facial hair.
So it’s Autumn. It’s sunny, crisp, and dry. What do you wear?
