Surfing Bundoran
So the New York Times have run an article about surfing in Bundoran. Read it here.
Nice article, except it makes surfing in Ireland in February sound rewarding. Hmmm. Maybe if you're Richie FitzGerald and you're able for surfing 40 foot mountain-waves off Mullaghmore...but if you're me, what surfing in Ireland is mostly about is staring at 2-foot slop while crippled by a hangover, and trying to convince yourself it's worth getting in and that it's better than it looks. And then when you get in and you're bollicking, the one consolation you cling to is that you look better on the water than you think. Like as if.

I agree surfing in Ireland is probably the best hangover cure I've ever known (what doesn't kill you etc). However, the New York times reporter didn't mention the joys of getting into a cold, wet wetsuit on an icy January morning. Perhaps she just wasn't hardcore enough for that ;)
