Marrakech

Made it to marrakech following a surf stop off in essouria. Surf stop
off was not the most successful ever. Boyfriend got a cracked rib
surfing in 2foot slop. I contracted pneumonia from wearing a huge
hired wetsuit that only fulfilled the purpose of keeping icy water
closer to my skin. Ok. So boyfriend might actually only have pulled a
tummy muscle and i have a cold...

spent a night in a fab candlelit riad where the only guests were the
boyfriend, me and 5kittens...was super-relaxing to fall asleep to the
sound of the sea after brushing my teeth by candlelight...

am now busy trying to eat as much morrocon food as possible b4 the
flight home tomorrow. Ryanair dont charge by passenger weight. Yet.

Storm riders...

I'd this great dream this morning where my family and I were at a place by the sea. There was just us: no nephews or nieces or partners. And we were enjoying a beautiful sunny day...then a weather warning came in, telling us that a huge storm was headed our way.

It being a dream, we had to choose one of two paths - we either headed for the hills or we headed out to sea in these Viking-style sail boats, to ride the storm out.

We headed to sea.

So once out at sea it was calm and glassy, the sun shining down on us. We were all nervous - my family aren't made up of strong swimmers. Indeed, my mother can only swim backwards, which is not the most useful activity in an emergency. But the skies grew dark and the swell picked up. And we were all there on our viking-style sail boats, trying to take the surge. Then the waves got so big they were threatening to swamp us.

At this point I knew we had to do something different. So in my dream, I began to surf the waves, using my viking-style sail boat, which responded to me uncannily like my bic 7' 3" surfboard...sigh. So I'm there, catching the waves and the whole family decide to give it a go. And what do you know? They're all naturals. So while the rest of this poor coastal community's getting pounded by massive storm swell, we're out zipping about in our Viking-style surf boats.

In my dream, my only concern was that when I was getting barrelled, the tip of my sails were at risk of snapping off with the wave above me.

Aren't dreams great?
