The New Frontier - writing from the Irish border

Earlier this year, the poet JAMES CONOR PATTERSON invited me to contribute some work to THE NEW FRONTIER - an anthology of non-fiction, fiction and poetry from the Irish border.

The work in the anthology explores the meaning of partition in the 21st century and has been described as ‘a chorus of voices from some of the island’s greatest writers, that conveys in its multiplicity the true meaning of our border’.

Writing in the Irish Times, Martin Doyle stated:

…read these pieces, enjoy them, learn from them. Theirs are the voices that school children in decades to come will refer to for the impassioned, necessarily biased view of what Ireland was like at a crucial juncture in its history. Whatever way that conversation leads, clues to its outcome are likely to be found within these pages…

Contributors include: Darran Anderson, Maureen Boyle, Colette Bryce, Garrett Carr, Luke Cassidy, Emily Cooper, Jill Crawford, Dean Fee, Michelle Gallen, Peter Hollywood, Michael Hughes, John Kelly, Marcel Krueger, Orla McAlinden, Bronagh McAtasney, Mícheál McCann, Jess McKinney, Maria McManus, Pat McCabe, Annemarie ní Chuirrean, Kerri ní Dochartaigh, Conor O’Callaghan, Abby Oliveira, Séamas O’Reilly, Lias Saoudi, Eoghan Walls, Nidhi Zak/AriaEipe.

The New Frontier is published by New Island Books and is now on bookshelves across the UK and Ireland. You can buy direct from the publisher, order for delivery in Ireland from The Gutter Bookshop or arrange delivery to Great Britain via bookshop.org.
